Blacksheep House, Isle of Harris
Blacksheep House is a unique, 5 star self catering property. An architecturally designed, contemporary renovation of a traditional Hebridean Blackhouse. This amazing holiday home was the winner of the prestigious Grand Designs Home of the Year in 2008. Accommodation is for two adults in a downstairs master bedroom. There is a galleried sleeping platform with a king-sized bed if desired. The house is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years or pets.
Blacksheep House is situated on the south coast of South Harris just off Strond, with its stunning views across the Sound of Harris to The Uists. The village of Leverburgh is only a mile away and has a well stocked general shop and restaurant.
Just a few metres from the shore the house offers exceptional views through huge semi-circle of window; to the west towards Leverburgh and Northton Hill and to the east towards Skye and the Cullins. Also Roineabhal, the highest peak in South Harris, can be seen to the back of the house.
